Total and Free PSA ELISA Test |
Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) is a glycoprotein manufactured almost exclusively by the prostate gland. Elevation of PSA concentration in blood may suggest presence of prostate cancer.
The 45-minute Teco PSA ELISA test kit is intended to be used for the determination of PSA concentration in human serum or plasma.
However, PSA levels can be also increased by prostate infection, irritation and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) etc. The percentage of unbound (free) PSA then becomes another important marker, especially for patients whose PSA concentrations suggest suspicion of prostate cancer. | Measuring the percentage of free PSA can eliminate unnecessary biopsies for these patients.
| | Both Teco total PSA kits and free PSA ELISA test are packaged with a 96-well coated microplate, enzyme conjugate solution, a single-bottle TMB substrate solution, wash concentrate, stop solution and a set of 6 reference standards to cover a wide range of PSA concentrations while maintaining sensitivity.
All components, except the wash concentrate, are ready-to-use to minimize assay preparation time. The microplate and conjugate solution utilized the strong binding power of striptavidin and biotin, the strongest non-covalent bond known to men, allowing the ELISA test system to use a universal plate without compromising assay specificity.
These are just two of the tumor marker ELISA test kits available here at Teco Diagnostics. For the complete line of products, please refer to our 2010-2011 catalog. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our costumer service team.
